Online Success - A Beginners Guide

Like any new venture in the business world, and online business is no different in this respect, the most important thing to do is to have a plan. 

Treat your online venture like a traditional business, and you have already greatly multiplied your chances of success. 

Too many beginners jump on the net, see the vast amount of business opportunities out there, and jump around from one to the next like a kangaroo on steroids, never settling with one opportunity long enough to realistically assess its potential, or to actually market it and work it as a business. 

Admittedly it is extremely easy to do this, as there is always another opportunity out there which promises better or faster rewards than the one you've chosen. Pick a program and stick with it at least for three or four months to give yourself time to put some effort and energy into its promotion. 

Work out a basic plan for the opportunity you choose, how many hours can you commit weekly? what are your resources, both financial and skill based? What are your financial expectations etc. Set yourself daily and weekly action plans and complete them. See online success as a step by step process, and take small steps every day.

As well as business goals, it is important to set some personal goals. The money that you plan to earn from your online business is just a medium. What do you want to do with your online income, buy a new car? buy a home? go on a dream holiday? pay your way through college? Set some goals that inspire you and make you feel passionate.

Choose a product or program that interests or inspires you. If you have a particular interest or passion in your life, try and find an online product or program which relates to this. People quickly recognize passion and enthusiasm in others and will relate and respond to it, probably a lot more so than slick copywriting and sales gimmicks. 

For example if you are an aspiring author, see if you cant find a genuine how to write course out there, which will both support your passion and help others like you to succeed too. There are endless opportunities out there, and your success will be greatly magnified if you choose something that inspires you, rather than just going for the big income promises. 

A well recognized universal principle is that by helping others achieve their dreams and goals, you will achieve your own much more rapidly. The converse is also true, rip someone off and chances are it will happen to you, so avoid the cheap scams and quick buck promise programs.

Learn about internet marketing from successful people. There are a huge amount of resources available online both to read and download, many of which are free or very inexpensive, and doing some market research and committing some time to learning the skills you need, can save you a fortune in wasted advertising costs down the track. 

Have a look at the testimonial section before committing yourself to an online program. What is their customer support like? does the program owner mentor his members and teach them what they need to know in order to succeed? With internet advertising the old saying you get what you pay for is very true. 

There are a lot of free options out there ie free classifieds, however the time taken to list ads versus the minimal results achieved makes them a waste of effort in most cases, so if you want quality advertising that gets results, be prepared to pay a fair price.

A final word on choosing a program or product, and that is the power of duplication and residual income. If you are promoting a product which you can only sell once, then you are always going to be searching for new customers. 

However if you can find a program that offers you a residual income, even if it is only a few dollars a month per customer, this can soon build up over time to a significant income, that comes to you regularly without any further effort on your part. 

The power of duplication works on a similar concept of ongoing income, learn how to earn an income yourself, then teach others to do the same and earn a cut of theirs too.
